Tarmac Repairs & Restoration
In the last 50 years or so, there are countless numbers of tarmac surfaces that have been laid across Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. Many of these of these tarmac surfaces are starting to show significant signs of wear that can result in the tarmac completely breaking up if some aspect of maintenance and upkeep is not carried out.
Tarmac is cheaper to lay than block paving or imprinted concrete and has been a popular choice of surface for many years because of this. However over time the tarmac will dry out due to constant exposure to direct sunlight. This may result in the tarmac surface become less 'flexible' and cracks may start to appear. Bigger cracks can result in pot holes appearing on the surface of tarmac which can lead to much more expensive repairs being required or a complete replacement of the tarmac surface.
We use Tarmaseal™ a high quality tarmac and asphalt restorer from Smartseal. The tarmac restorer can be easily applied by roller on the surface of the tarmac after it has been pressure cleaned. Before any pressure washing is carried out it may be necessary to pre-treat and remove any oil stains that may be present on the surfcae of the tarmac. Anti-fungicides are also used to kill any moss or algae that may be growing on the tarmac.
